Blinking keyboard lights a sign of distress?

An odd series of keypresses will trigger this.  I'm not sure exactly
what they are, my 3 year old can find it every time, but the system is
going into a kernel debugger mode.  Unfortunately, when you start it up
you must be in a VT, not X.  Recompile your kernel without the kernel
debugger (or stop leaning on the keyboard).
