I have a pretty serious filter I'll post on my website someday.
My mail, for a variety of reasons, follows the path :
fetchmail -> procmail -> temp-folder -> mailfilter.pl -> Mh folders for
Sylpheed
The perl script also calls spamassassin internally. I detect virii, bounce a
note to the originator, file Joe jobs in their own folder and drop a complaint,
and of course file spam in it's special place, plus sort all my e-mail lists
appropriately. I also autoforward certain e-mails to my work account, or in
some cases to my wife's account. And certain e-mails set off executables.
Once you get started on a filter like this, it's hard to stop. Oh, I also
make copies of e-mails that trigger on a keyword list and put them in
a special folder. Someday I want to make that more sophisticated to do
a Bayesian filter to make the decision.
