mozilla causing system lockups?

Ohhhhh.  It almost caused mozilla to lock up, before i stopped the
page-load.  However, that isn't the same behavior that i'm seeing on the
'problem' box, where it locks up instantaneously, just by clicking
something like a tab.

I'm wondering if this is some bizarre glibc conflict, where the browser is
compiled for a different version than i'm using.
