Bingo.  Looks like you're running up against a filesize limit.  I'm not at
all familiar with SusE kernels and/or glibc, so i'm not sure if there is a
workaround, other than building a new kernel.  Has SuSE released any newer
kernel versions or glibc versions that you could upgrade to?
