Was the maker of BeOS a a high performance multimedia oriented OS.

It was available for Mac and PC platforms and has some users (specially
on the Mac side).

AFAIK, Palm Inc bought the company to use the technology of BeOS for
PalmOS 5.

As a side note, theres an open source project to build and OS version
of BeOS (can't remember the web site).
