Sorta like runiing Windows in VMWare on Linux, I object to that in
principal. The real improvement would be to clean up the html. HOWEVER,
there are always the practical considerations that drive the 'art of the
possible.' 

I think you've got a number of options now. Maybe a combination of
both... do what you have to to get the pages to run now, and maintain a
longer-term project to clean them up, as you get time, page-by-page.
