Video card

Yes, I wouldn't lie about something like this.
The nvidia install script has its own ideas about which compiler it is 
using.
Are there any other names for the compiler except gcc?
I have searched my box for gcc and cc and all I get is /usr/bin/gcc. 
Nothing else.
