how to increase /root space

Hi

 if i want to increase the partition space under the  
/boot    what procedure i need to follow?  Recently
our server /boot partion is 99% full,


[root at server boot]# df

99% /boot

0% /dev/shm

  The server is redhat 7.3 kernel  2.4.18-27.7.x
