Enscript question: Making page colored

Add 

\shade{val}

to the top of the document, where val is a decimal value between
0 and 1. Then, invoke enscript as

$ enscript -e\\ foo -o foo.ps

That gives you a shaded background, but I couldn't make the text
visible.
