Now I do love my single malt, but a litre is pushing the envelope.

Reminds me of an old story.

A man comes into a bar each day and orders an iced tea glass full of
single malt, holds his nose, and pours down the scotch.  Eventually the
bartender's curiosity is aroused.  

"If you don't like scotch, why do you drink so much of it?" 

"Oh no, you don't understand.  I love scotch.  If I don't hold my nose,
my mouth waters, and I don't want to dilute it!"
