Unknown host error message when trying to ping Internet

Nope, they just made Yast2 a little less HEAVY-HANDED. It still doesn't read in hand-edited values (they're probably too wimpy to write their tools to deal with all the values in a config)
Yast2 just looks for self-edited configs and won't overwrite them by default.

use the command "dig pcisys.net @216.229.32.170"
If that gives you an error, then there is some problem with DNS lookups and I would start looking for an IP filter somewhere (firewall or router?) Be sure to turn off SuSEfirewall while testing if it's running. I've found it to actually screw up troubleshooting.
