2.4.21... Dead in the water...

Ahhh...acpi has been known to be mostly broken in the vanilla 2.4.x 
kernels.  From what i've read, in order to get useful acpi support, you 
either need to go to 2.5.x or apply the acpi patch from acpi.sf.net.
