external audio source -> cd

I've heard that Gramofile is really good for LP->cd convertions.
If you're looking for a decent audio editor/cutter/exporter, I use Audacity,
version 1.1.3 of which you can get for SuSE from packman.links2linux.de. If
they haven't stuck out the dependency wxWindows RPM I sent them yet let me know
and I'll get it to you. (it should be the only Dependency you'll need on SuSE
8.0+)
I use Audacity all the time to record good quality audio from the soundcard
(although the quality is also very dependent upon the hardware and connections
involved). I'm pretty sure that Gramofile does the same as well.
If you get a WAV file on your HD, Audacity can either convert to it's own
format (leaving the source intact) which can then be exported, or it can
manipulate the audio file inplace. Either way, you cut the tracks using
"Split" and then export each track as WAV or MP3/OGG. Once you have the tracks
split out, you can burn using K3b which, although 0.7.1 likes to crash at the
end of a burn, cuts a pretty good CD. KreateCD does a good job as well.
If you are still looking to pull the audio from it's current format, I don't
have much value to add.
