Lindows & XP Pro Dual boot

I have only played with Lindows once and it came pre-installed on the system.
Does Lindows claim to install on a Windows (FAT16/32) partition or does it
require a Linux/Unix filesystem instead? If the latter, you will have to give
up one of your partitions or use a tool like PartitionMagic to resize one of
your existing partitions to make room for a new one, which you may use to
install Linux or any flavor.
As for difficulties dual-booting, I don't believe so. I've been dual-booting
with Win2k for some time and I'm pretty sure they didn't change things much in
the boot process. In fact, the only significant change in the boot process
since WinNT was when Microsoft got fed up with all the Linux OS'es getting the
first boot page and started putting the NT Bootloader in the MBR (Master Boot
Record) with Win2k. NT and all the 9x's installed their bootloader program in
the individual PBR (Partition Boot Record) of the "Active" partition.
For more information on the Linux boot process which describes the standard PC
boot process, check out http://www.linux-sxs.org/bedtime/bootproc.html
Lindows will most likely overwrite the WinXP bootloader with its own, but that
should be ok. You may wish to read up on the chainloader feature of either
Lilo or Grub, whichever is the bootloader for Lindows. This will be important
in the event that Lindows doesn't automagically set up your system to boot back
into Windows :) Don't worry, it's easy. Does anyone know what bootloader
Lindows uses? This information would be good for him to have on hand in case
he needs it. If you have another PC you can email from, let us know if you run
into any issues.
