Correct Compiler Flags for my Computer

People,

I have a Pentium III 600 with 512MB RAM running mdk9.1.

I have been compiling and installing stuff using the compiler flags in 
douglas's mozilla from source sxs namely |'-O3 -march=i686 -mcpu=i686' ?

I compiled Mozilla from source using the gtk2 kit and it took ~8hrs. Is 
this normal when using the compiler optimisations/optimizations as 
above? Can anyone suggest better compiler options than above or is this 
correct?
