I found you have to cd *out* of the mounted disk in the chroot environment
before you can exit and unmount it in the master environment.  If you didn't
do that, chroot back in and "cd /".  Then you should be able to unmount it
when you exit.  Strange, but it keeps track of *anyone* in that directory
structure.
