First thing is to determine the format that it's backed up in. I don't
know for sure, but most Windows backup programs use a proprietary
method. Normally something backed up with Backup Exec isn't readable by
Tapeware, etc., etc. Trying to read it into linux adds another layer of
complexity that may not be attainable. I'd really try using Windows to
get the data off the tape first, even if it requires using an old system
to load the os and restore program.
