Don't do that. Try:
modprobe mod_quickcam
If you still run into problems, i suspect that the code used to b uild the
mod_quickcam.o isn't the same, or wasn't built at the same time as the
kernel (vmlinuz) that you'er running.

Well if you built the module separately from the kernel (not all at the
same time) then this could play a role.
