debian? lean but fat quickly

dselect is simple and handles all the dependencies for you.  I don?t use
aptitude, I use apt-get directly.  It?s really simple.  And when things
come unglued (As they will in unstable from time to time), dpkg using
some of the --force-<whatever> options will usually fix it.

Yeah, they do install a bunch of unnecessary crap, but you can try to
uninstall anything (and if it has dependencies, you?ll hear about it).
