To the few remaining Caldera Linux users and staff on the list;
Fare ye well. I was there at the beginning, I'm sadly here to see the end, and a miserable one it is, too. Some wonderful people came and went on this list, including folks like Evan, Ricky Moore, and even Donny Barnes of Red Hat. We had some wonderful exchanges and learned a lot along the way. Given the current load of manure coming out of the moribund corpse of what was Caldera, I will terminate even my remaining tenuous interest, including the lists.caldera.com mailing list.
To the former Caldera, now (essentially) SCO:
I have, in the past, strongly recommended your company and products. All your recent developments, especially the way you have chosen to place frantic efforts at survival ahead of integrity, honor, and any sense of decency have brought me to a point where I will strongly argue against any use of a Caldera/SCO product in any form at any company where I am consulting and have any input to the product selection process. Your actions remind me of the stories of sinking ships where the (temporary) survivors, frantically attempting to stay alive themselves, have tried to use others in the water near them as a floatation device, possibly destroying them in the process. I wish you ill fortune and the earliest possible demise in the near future.
Sincerely;
rickf
