hfsutils problems

Folks,
I've re-partitioned my PowerBook (G4 1GHz 15") with a the Apple fixes
(hda0-7), and several other partitions:
/dev/hda8 boot partition (yaboot)
/dev/hda9 OSX system
/dev/hda10 hfs share partition
/dev/hda11 YellowDog Linux System
/dev/hda12 Gentoo System
/dev/hda13 /home for linux systems
/dev/hda14 linux share1
/dev/hda15 swap
I want to be able to share files from OSX to Linux. So I've installed
hfsutils, and it has in the past worked. Unfortunately, that was in the
middle of the night and I didn't write down how.
When I try to mount the hfs share partition from linux with:
hmount /dev/hda 2
it says there is an error with the partition (but it is fully viewable with
read/write access from OSX).
When I try to mount the OSX partition from linux with:
hmount /dev/hda 1
I get it mounted (it says) but locked (it should be -- it is write
protected). But I get no files or directories when I run hls, and I can not
change directories with hcd.
I would be greatly appreciative of any suggestions on how to proceed.
In Harmony's Way, and In A Chord,
Tom :-})
