/dev/hdc

On a Slack 9.0 sytem running devfs I notice that the /dev/ide/~/disc is 
created for hda hdb and hdd, but not for hdc. I can't seem to get this 
system to create a dev for the master on ide1. Is there a file in Slack 
that I sshould be editing. There are no entries in devfss.conf that 
pertain tto hd's and I've run out of places to look. The HD is a western 
digital and is good. I can place it on ide0 and boot from it use it as 
the master but as master on ide1, it does get recognized by the bios and 
by the kernel during boot, but there is no dev created for it, strange.

Any thoughts?
