Koffice anyone?

Just like to know if it is me or the application. I am not a big fan of
koffice but I give it a try everyone now and then.

I just used Staroffice to open a couple of xls files from work. Staroffice
handled both very nicely, one with charts, the other without. There were a
couple of problems with the charts, but they were easy to fix.

Koffice (kspread 1.1.1) opened the xls file without charts well, but
just crashed on the file with the charts. The charts were nothing fancy. 

Have others been able to use koffice to open xls files?
