newbie question re: MS filenames

This is a really dumb question that I'm embarrased to even ask.
I'm trying to run wine on .exe files on an Adobe Illustrator CD 
(Microsoft).
The microsoft file names have blank spaces in the filenames and 
directory names.  So I can't open the file or directory from the 
command line when I reproduce the file name with the space bar as a 
space.  But the files or directory opens from Konqueror with a mouse 
click.  So what character is really hiding in the "space"??
