Ripping CD question: Song titles not detected

This is all a mystery to me. Do you mean there is a database "out there"
which tracks all cdrom's and their titles?

How can this be accurately uploaded? This information is quite tedious
to record manually.

How does one find and choose such a database when one is ripping?
