RH9 and pcmcia problems

I installed RH9 (the XFS version) on an IBM T20 laptop, and all was 
perfect.  All of my hardware was correctly recognized & supported, 
including my Cisco Aironet pcmcia wifi card.

Well, at that point i decided to build my own 2.4.20-xfs kernel, and 
with my own kernel its been a disaster.  I can't manage to get the wifi 
card working.  Its recognized just fine, and the appropriate modules are 
loaded (airo & airo_cs), but the card just won't respond.  The only 
error that i'm seeing is:
airo: register interupt 0 failed, rc -16

I've gotten the same exact card working on a different HP laptop with a 
2.4.20 kernel (but that laptop is running RH-7.3).  Anyone have ideas or 
suggestions?
