The problem with a distro like Gentoo for myself is:

I have a small business.  I don't have several days to compile from source.  
Also, I am a linux user, not a linux pro or geek.  (I mean geek in the most 
respected of ways.  I only wish I was one).

But, I appreciate what you are saying.  I looked into Gentoo (which is a type 
of penguin, by the way), and chose not to use it for the previous reasons.
