Already have those entries as they were appended to httpd.conf by the install script for fastcgi.

That I do not think would give the  "you don't have permission to" error 
. I've been know to be wrong before:) According to all the howto's and
readme's both fast_cgi and p_cgi behave well together. The plone and CMF
docs list that as a requirement. I guess I'm just going to have to join
YAML (yet another mail list) Sheesh! I'm already recieving over 250 and
up postings per day. I do appreciate the feed-back here even if its
might not be the solution it does give me something to look at. This has
in many cases brought to light something I've over looked.
