Well I tried it.  As usual on gentoo it's really simple.  Just make sure
to get the binary package rather than the source package unless you have
24+ hours time to kill!

A few notes:

1. Apparently you no longer need the separate setup for each user
(yeah!)
2. There are now separate executable links (oowriter, oocalc, etc.) in
addition to oofice (gone is the soffice name).
3.  At least the oowriter option seems to start a little faster.
4.  Printing - no change from previous versions.  You don't need to do
anything extra, if you have a working linux printer daemon (I use
lprng).  The "generic printer" choice works just as you would expect.
5. It took a while to find the new save as PDF option.  It's Export as
PDF on the File menu rather than a Save as file type.  Works like a
champ.
