I have no help for you, but just a suggestion.

Have you tried any other distros lately? I'm thinking lindows doesn't 
like you. Have a look at Libranet if you want to go with debian. (or 
debian 3.0, which isn't bad) Upgrade to unstable and see what happens. 
You could give it a 6 gig partition and have it up and running in no time.

The new slackware is pretty up to date, as is mandrake, and of course 
redhat. These can be downloaded free.

Or maybe it was you who didn't like libranet.... I forget, sorry.
