HELP!! Modem PCTEL and sound system

Hi for you.

I get a ECS k7SEM mother-board and this has a AMR pctel (HSP 56 MR)modem. So
I can´t use it when the on-board sound system is set to enabled in the bios
screen, the modem work correctly when i set to disabled the on-board sound
system.
Does someone have already passed this situation? Or know what should i do?
( I have heard that COMMERCIAL drivers from opensound.com makes the modem
work together the sound system, but i really would not like to buy it
)   )

My system:
Conectiva Linux 8 - 2.4.18
Motherboard ChipSet 730s
response from lsmpci about modem: ...Unknown device 7013
