initrd

Forget this initrd waste of time.
I read what was in initrd-linuxversion.gz. I just had to build in ide
support to my kernel and it worked.
What a waste of time and effort.
Now, my palm still won't connect, but now at least /proc/bus/usb/devices
shows a driver for the palm (serial) and the visor module loads
automatically. Now, I have to figure out what the heck happened to my
/dev/pilot. The /dev directory on this machine seems to have a mind of its
own. I suppose another bit of progress I will have to try to get rid of.
