USB and Palm connection problem

Well, I got the kernel source for 2.4.19 off the lindows click and run site.
I tried to edit the visor.c and visor.h files as suggested in the link below:
http://snovae.in2p3.fr/ycopin/soft/zire.html
Now, that was for kernel 2.4.10, and the visor.c file has changed quite a
bit since then. However, I did the patches he suggested, and more!, and get
this error code when I compile it:
visor.c:218: warning: `palm_zire_id_table' defined but not used
Now, the new module insmod's fine, but I get the exact same error message
as before, that is:
etc/hotplug/usb.agent: ... no modules for USB product 830/70/100
SO, I went and got the kernel sources from click and run for 2.4.20,
which supports the Zire. I compiled the new visor.c against the kernel
2.4.19 sources, and got no errors during compile. The new visor.o module
insmod'ed just fine. However, I still get an error message when I try
to connect to my Zire, although the error is a bit different now.
usbserial.c: USB Serial support registered for `
visor.c: USB HandSpring Visor, Palm m50x, Sony Clii driver v1.6
kernel: hub.c: USB new device connect on bus1/1, assigned device number 31
usbserial.c: descriptors matched, but endpoints did not <---DIFFERENT ERROR:
usb.c: USB device 31 (vend/prod 0x830/0x70) is not claimed by any active driver.
/etc/hotplug/usb.agent: ... no modules for USB product 830/70/100
Any suggestions welcome.
My next steps in order of preference will be to:
1. Install kernel 2.4.20.
2. Buy a supported palm under 2.4.19.
3. Use XP.
