Wait, "a 'desktop environment'", huh? I stand corrected...
Enlighten me, how, exactly, is a 'desktop environment' different from a 
'desktop'?
Is a 'desktop environment' the same as a 'window manager'? Must be, cuz 
linux has those, but not desktops.

wait a minute... linux doesn't have desktops, you've told us all that... 
just a couple e-mails ago. now you're telling us that red hat 9 comes 
with more than one of something that doesn't exist?

No meaning? Why? Because it's the kernel that is responsible? Who cares 
*why* the desktop is more responsive, that's not at issue.

Seems someone has a burning need to be right all the time...
