Actually, xv is available -- just not from the official sources. Take a
look at the following list:
http://www.apt-get.org/
at the bottom is a link to the "Big List". But if you search packages
using i386 and all and search for xv, the second entry should have xv
listed.
Unless you just want to compile for yourself. Even so, the deb-src is
also there.
