tab problems in mozilla-1.4x ?

Anyone else trying out mozilla-1.4[a,b], and having problems creating 
new tabs?  In 1.3 (and earlier) releases, i could always spawn a new tab 
with either alt-T or ctrl-T.  Neither work in 1.4x.  I can hit the 
little * icon to create them, but that's a bit annoying.  I can also 
type a new URL, and hit Ctrl-Enter, but that's also a bit annoying.  Is 
it just me having this problem?
