If you have need for good failover, you might want to take a look at
PowerMail. It uses Postgres and can spread things out over several
servers so any one going down won't matter (if you're running 3 or more
servers). You'll still need sendmail for outgoing, this is incoming
only. Has pop3 to handle pickups.
