<slightly OT> DVD jitters

I think i can safely rule out the videocard, since its only the window 
displaying the DVD movie that jitters, and nothing else.  And actually, 
the window itself doesn't jitter, just the contents of the window.  I 
don't hear any vibrations, so maybe its a dirty head.  How might i 
attempt to clean it?
