I think in any large undertaking, there is experimentation at the beginning,
then as things sort out efforts go into actual components. And, KDE has
attracted many applications. So many, in fact, that I think they need to
make a more clear distinction between KDE and KDE applications. It is
implied in the kdelibs & kdebase layout, but I always fear I will miss that
one component that makes it all work if I leave something out.
