Why not a tiny USB hub, which would allow you to hook up more than one
device to your USB connector. Plug each camera into the hub and plug the
hub into your USB connector on your computer. Then, each device is just a
device. Select the one you want. No drivers are needed. At least I think a
simple USB hub should work out of the box on Linux.
