I don't know (sorry, that's not the answer you were hoping for).  My 
burner is on a separate box from my DVD drive, so i never had to deal 
with this.  I do know that my DVD drive is the only IDE drive in the 
box, all others are SCSI.  Not sure if that makes a difference.
