wireless question

I just added wireless capability and went the with simplest (but not least
expensive) way. My setup:
Cabel Modem
|
Linksys Cable/DSL 4 port Router w/ wireless (it can do both)
| | . .
| | . .
Linux PC Linux PC XP laptop Work laptop (dual boot w2k/linux)
The "." are wirelessly connected, the pc's hardwired. My work laptop can also
be hardwire (via docking station).
I had a hell of a time trying to get the linksys card to work in my laptop
under RH 8.0 because its a prism2 chip and I had to compile the right drivers
(and rh didn't supply the necessary sources). So after a day of searching, for
the right stuff, I found a how-to from someone w/ the same configuration and
followed his VERY easy advice since I don't care about sniffing capability).
Anyway, the linksys stuff works fine.
But, this was easier for me; simply replaced my non-wireless router with a
wireless capable one. There's a firewall on the router, so you don't *have* to
put one on your pc's.
Just my $.02 & HTH
