stdc++ and caldera

btw, according to mysql

root at server: scripts> cat compile.mysql
#!/bin/sh
# this is to avoid those libstdc++ error as suggested
# by the README in mysql source tree.
export CC=gcc
export CXX=gcc

is this a generic solution to all the libstdc++ problem I would be 
seeing in the future?
