Gimp: Arrow Heads: solved

Well, just to say how I finally got decent arrows in gimp, in case anyone
else is puzzled by it:
1. Open a new image with a black foreground. (make it big)
2. Put guides in
3. Using the bezier select tool, make a big arrow head. The shaft is
optional.
4. Select the new arrow head while the bezier tool is still active
(left clicking in the arrow), and paste it into a new image with a
transparent background.
There, now you have it.
At this point, you can rotate it to 45 degrees or whatever. Then, to get
arrow heads of different sizes, scale the image down in steps, each time
selecting and copying each newly sized arrow head to a third new image,
with a transparent background. This third image is the keeper, and can
hold all your arrow heads for you. Make sure you save this third image.
Then, when you want one, just select and paste from your arrow file.
Somehow, this ought to be easier.
