My compile adventure

I really wish you'd send plaintext emails without attachments.

Anyway, are you saying that the lsmod output you submitted came from your
2.4.20 kernel? You've got everything under the sun running (do you have
Bluetooth hardware? cause you've got the module for it loaded).

At any rate unless you explicitly chose to compile support for your NIC &
soundcard (and i don't think you've identified either of them to us, so we
can't even tell you what to select) then you don't have the support.

What kind of NIC do you have? What kind of soundcard do you have? In
most cases you select the modules for those in the kernel config. I
remember you stating that you were using the tulip module before, so
you'll need to select that again when you build 2.4.20.
