Mandrake Doomed?

As I read it (though I don't have it before me) they did get rid of their devils and are well on the way out of the hole. Having just looked at Mandrake 9.0 from the viewpoint of a newbie looking for a way to make computing affordable for more of the community, I hope things go their way. Looks like a great distribution for the techy-challenged.
