The IOMEGA NAS is like that. The Unix (IOMEGA call it that - it is
probably linux) one costs less (they have a Windoes version as well)  and
has gotten better results in tests. It supports most all OS as a client. I
have seen some that seem to require client-specific software (like
storagetek). So you are correct to check if you want to access it from any
OS.
