Network storage?

It really depends on the operating system being used. Some of these
devices have Windows and some come with Linux. 

What is the type of NAS you are receiving?

Once configured, how do the clients access it? What I picture in my old

mind is a network file system, something along the lines of samba, nfs,
etc...
