I finally had a requirement for my printer (canon bjc-210) used the 
printer manager to set it up and all seem to go ok. When I send a print 
job to the printer it seems to do all the right things but I get no 
output on the printer.  I then ran "checkpc -f" and I get "can not open 
lp device ' device lp0'  no such device.  checking /dev and sure enough 
no such device. using mknod:

mknod c 6 0 lp0

rerun checkpc -f and I still get the same error.

I am using devfsd with ext3 fs. kernel 2.4.20 unpached what am I missing?
