CD burner: Sony-Supported under linux?

I added ide-scsi, but get the same error. I may have to modify my
lilo.conf file, according to the SxS, although I am not sure if you have
to do this. It is my understanding that every unregistered device will
be taken over by the ide-scsi driver when it loads, which should (might)
include my cdrom.
It is interesting to read the README.linux that comes with cdrecord,
the last word in burner software and the reason why we have to fuss with
this phony scsi stuff. The guy hates linux.
